​Maluma firar födelsedagen med att släppa det visuella albumet “#7DJ”

Igår fyllde den colombianska superstjärnan Maluma 27 år. Han firade födelsedagen genom att överraska sina fans med det nya albumet “#7DJ” (7 Days in Jamaica). Albumet består av sju låtar som alla fått en tillhörande video som tillsammans utgör en kortfilm där Maluma tar med fansen på en audiovisuell upplevelse genom Jamaica.

Maluma hade länge drömt om att åka till Jamaica och under en sju dagar lång semester förra året inspirerades han till att skriva “#7DJ”. Maluma beskriver resan som att den förändrade hans liv och säger;

"Those seven days in Jamaica came at a time when I needed to escape and decompress as I had intensely worked non-stop on my career for seven years… causing me to question if I should even continue doing music. I did a lot of soul-searching and came back a different person, completely inspired and having realized that music is not just what I do, its part of who I am; how I experience and interpret life”.

På nya “#7DJ” tar Maluma sitt sound i en ny riktning där han blandar sin hyllade latin fusion med reggae och dancehall. Han har samarbetat med några av Jamaicas främsta musiker och artister som Ziggy Marley och Charly Black.

#7DJ” är producerad av Edgar Barrera "Edge", Johany Alejandro Corral “Nyal” och The Rude Boyz (Kevin “ADG” Jimenez och Bryan Lezcano “Chan El Genio”). Alla låtar är skrivna av Maluma (Juan Luis Londoño) tillsammans med Edgar Barrera, Vicente Barco, Johany Corral "Nyal", Kevin Jimenez, Bryan Lezcano, Miky La Sensa, Ziggy Marley och Charly Black mfl.

Albumomslaget till "#7DJ" är gjort av den colombianska konstnären Federico Uribe. I skapandet av porträttet på Maluma har Federico endast använt återvunnet material. Konstverket kommer att auktioneras ut och 100% av intäkterna går till välgörenhet och stiftelser som värnar om miljön i Colombia.

Maluma is the youngest artist to simultaneously hold both the #1 and #2 spots on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart and only the sixth act to ever achieve the feat he has now repeated three times. To date Maluma has had twenty #1 singles on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart.
