Norwegian lighting and furniture designer Daniel Rybakken is this year’s winner of the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize. His exhibition Daylight and Objects will feature at Gothenburg City Library from 5 November.
Since the early 1970s, the German band Kraftwerk has cultivated a distinct expression, both musically and visually. One of the central themes has been how modern technology shapes society and man. The exhibition opens on Sunday, May 24 and runs until November 8, 2015 at the Röhsska Museum of Design, Fashion and Decorative Arts.
The Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize 2014 is awarded the Swedish fashion designer Ann-Sofie Back. The Röhsska Museum prize committee for the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize, with funds from the Torsten Söderberg Foundation, has decided to award Ann-Sofie Back this year’s prize of SEK 1 million. This is the first time the prize has been awarded to a Swedish fashion designer.

Invitation to Press Preview, 15 May, 13.00. The Röhsska Museum is showing the exhibition Picasso on a Plate. Ceramics 1948-1971 from 17 May – 28 September 2014. The grand opening is on Saturday 17 May at 13.00 CET. The exhibition presents around 70 ceramic pieces, designed by Picasso and produced in limited editions. The exhibition also includes some 20 posters and linocuts by Picasso.
Fashion Figures Faces The Röhsska Museum shows the work of Mats Gustafson. Mats Gustafson has attracted international attention over several decades for his fashion drawings in watercolour, Indian ink and pastels. He has repeatedly been engaged by the leading clothing designers and fashion houses: Yohji Yamamoto, Romeo Gigli, Dior, Comme des Garçons and Hermès. The exhibition runs 25.2– 4.5.

Norwegian jewellery engineer Sigurd Bronger will exhibit his products at the Röhsska Museum The winner of the SEK 1 million Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Award 2012, the Norwegian jewellery engineer Sigurd Bronger will exhibit his products at the Röhsska Museum, November 6 until March 3, 2013.
Röhsska museet är inbjudet att medverka i World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 med utställningen Samling och upplösning; Nordisk design av idag som visar designers som fått Torsten och Wanja Söderbergs pris de senaste fem åren. Utställningen Samling och upplösning; Nordisk design av idag pågår på EMMA 11.7–16.9 2012.
Röhsska diskuterar ondska i sin kommande utställning Ond Design. Utställningen vill bredda designbegreppet och analysera design ur ett samhälleligt perspektiv. Ond Design öppnar på Röhsska museet den 8 september 2012.
Den norske smyckeingenjören Sigurd Bronger är 2012 års mottagare av Torsten och Wanja Söderbergs pris. Röhsska museets prisnämnd för Torsten och Wanja Söderbergs pris, med medel från Torsten Söderbergs stiftelse och Ragnar Söderbergs stiftelse har beslutat att tilldela Sigurd Bronger årets pris om 1.000.000 SEK. Priset delas ut i samband med en högtidlighet i Göteborg den 5 november 2012.
