Nola's Seasonal News Unveiled at Stockholm Furniture Fair

Among Nola's 2024 innovations are a striking wooden pavilion inspired by urban shapes, a bench table challenging the norm, and a petit café chair perfect for leisurely breaks. A total of six new products are showcased, alongside a carefully curated selection from the existing range.

Presented in a setting designed and curated by Anki Gneib and Mia Cullin, Nola unveils this season's product news. Continuing the tradition from previous years, the booth is crafted with zero waste and reused materials, this time themed as a winter garden for relaxation.

The booth is framed by two architectural wooden pavilions designed by architect Mattias Rubin de Lima, which are part of the novelties. The space between the structures will be furnished with new pieces from designers Färg & Blanche, Thomas Bernstrand, Andreas Klippinge, SuperLab, and White Arkitekter & Clara Frænkel.

2024 Novelties

Moiré by Mattias Rubin de Lima

Moiré is a pavilion and weather shelter with a distinct house-like shape that speaks the language of the city, complementing Nola's existing range of pavilions and pergolas. It is rationally constructed with a load-bearing wooden frame and can be built to any length with dividing sections at specified intervals. The frame can be adorned with layers of slats in different patterns and colors, trellises for climbing plants, or other materials for additional weather protection.

Island by Färg & Blanche

The Island furniture group challenges the traditional rectangular bench table with its organic and asymmetrical shapes. Tables and benches with varying widths on the sides bring out a sense of playfulness in the arrangement and invite people to sit in various ways. By placing multiple tables lengthwise, seating arrangements can be created where everyone can see each other.

Cortado by Superlab

Cortado is a nimble chair ideal for spontaneous gatherings and public spaces like cafes, shopping centers, and rooftop terraces. It boasts a comfortable padded seat in so-called dry foam for outdoor use and a robust steel frame. Designed by the innovative Superlab, Cortado addresses the challenge faced by cafes: how to provide inviting seating without encouraging guests to linger too long. The solution lies in its low steel frame, serving as both backrest and armrests.

Alta by Andreas Klippinge

Alta is a steel and wood lounge furniture series designed for both outdoor and indoor settings. The series embodies simplicity, inclusiveness, and versatility. With its soft, pillow-like wooden details, Alta exudes an inviting ambiance. Alta offers flexibility and comfort for both solitary relaxation and cozy togetherness with someone special.

Korg Hammock by Thomas Bernstrand

In response to an increased demand for hammocks, the popular Korg series by Thomas Bernstrand is now complemented with a much-anticipated rocking sofa as an addition to the existing collection. The hammock is suspended from two bars attached to a sturdy A-shaped steel frame that is bolted to the ground. The mesh in the Korg series is valuable for many open outdoor spaces, making the furniture both low-maintenance and dry, as water doesn't accumulate in ways it does on larger surfaces.

Ljusnan by White Arkitekter & Clara Frænkel

Ljusnan is an attachable small table with an illuminated bottom that can be mounted to other products, such as walls, standalone benches, or other fixed installations where a tray or surface is needed for the placement of everyday objects or support. The table features a steel tabletop with an integrated LED fixture that emits light downwards and to the sides, creating a pleasantly inviting and secure atmosphere. The tabletop size is just right for two arms to meet, a sketchbook, laptop, or two cups with a thermos.
