Madeleine Hertz’s work revolves around spatial interventions of the places we inhabit, connected to structural ideas of certain environments interpreted through architectural conceptualizations such as form and function.
Erik Viklund's work is inspired by places and encounters with people and their destinies in these locations. Utilizing photography, he is interested in approaching the transient, but also how the transient is expressed in our lives in a purely physical way from one place to another; on a found piece of paper, a broken window or the torn down wallpaper in a house that has been deserted.
In the old days it was important to keep the fire in your fireplace burning. As the main light and heating source, it was also how you kept the (evil) spirits from entering your home and bringing misfortune. The fire signalled human presence.

Her work explores how power is articulated through relationships, often focusing on the body and materiality in relation to narratives of nationalism, and histories of place.

The exhibition consists of a series of abstract paintings; an Interplay between chance, structure, spatiality and time. Different variations of directions connect in subtle constellations and in drastic cuts. Daily impressions are filtered through the painter's hand out onto the canvas, consisting of both transparent and opaque color layers.
