Graphic Design and Illustration students launches the The C-print "Sports Issue"

Students of Konstfack are teaming up with C-print, a non-profit platform that generates opportunities for artists and to make change, creating the The Sports Issue about the overlap between contemporary art and sports.

The new C-print issue is a close collaboration with the BA2 Graphic Design and Illustration class at Konstfack who are the art directors and illustrators of the magazine, The particapating students are: Sally Apelmo, Ellinor Ahlén, Elsa Paulson, Emilia Mospinek, Erik Torefeldt, Hilda Benulic, Johanna Ekström, Otis Lindström, Scott Huber, Sissela Blanco, Sofia Ljungberg, Sonia Engström and Stella Westergren.

This year’s collaboration, the second in a row, was initiated by Roby Redgrave McPherson, Senior Lecturer at Konstfack, who along with artist and illustrator Emma Löfström mentored the students in a 4-week intense working and learning period of editorial graphic design and illustration.

Roby Redgrave McPherson says that "the intention was to give the students practical and professional experience of magazine production, while working in an important and visible context. The outcome proves how important visual communication is when it comes to communicating contemporary art discourse, and I hope this project will encourage contemporary art institutions and platforms to commission equally progressive graphic design and illustration".

The Sports Issue, C -print’s second issue in print, is printed in a limited edition and distributed at select retailers in Sweden and internationally.

Welcome to join the release on Friday 20 May, 5–8 pm at Riksidrottsmuseet, Djurgårdsbrunnsvägen in Museiparken. Click for Facebook event.
