Lukulumo reaches a 20% market share
Every fifth child participating in Finnish day care has the possibility to use Lukulumo. After only 18 months on the market, the multilingual picture book service now has almost 50 000 users. Lukulumo is a digital picture book service that combines stories, illustrations and narration in one digital package. You can listen to the books in Lukulumo in Finnish while watching the pictures and, if you want to, following the text. Some of the books are narrated in over 50 different languages, supporting the language development of multilingual children.
Lukulumo was launched in Finland in September 2018. It’s based on the Swedish concept Polyglutt that has made a huge success in Sweden. The success story continues in Finland.
What does the team behind Lukulumo say?
“It’s been an incredible journey, and we look forward to the future. We want to constantly improve Lukulumo so that it can support staff in day care in their important job,” says Jakob Skogholm, CEO for ILT Inläsningstjänst.
“Almost 50 000 children, that’s amazing! I hope each one of them finds joy, comfort and adventures in Lukulumo and reading,” tells Maija Kurjenluoma, marketing manager for Lukulumo.
