Parlophone Music Nordic, Sony, Spotify og Luger presenterer Way Out West Hack Battle ‘Wowhack’
Oslo 2. juli 2013 - Parlophone Music Nordic har nok en gang gått sammen med Sony, Spotify og konsertpromotørene i Luger for å arrangere en musikk-hackathon under årets West Out West-festival i Gøteborg.
Som en del av Way Out West-festivalen vil utviklere fra hele Europa samles for å utvikle nye og spennende ideer under temaet “music discovery”. Et av de mest suksessfulle konseptene fra i fjor var Lanyard – en ny måte for å samle alle dine konsert- og festivalopplevelser. Konseptet ble unnfanget av det britiske selskapet Retrofuzz og senere utviklet til en kommersiell platform: https://lanyard.fm/.
Paul Sonkamble, Head of EMI Nordic Innovation Lab, sa: “Being a competitive record label in 2013 requires a deep understanding of the constantly developing dynamics that takes place everyday in information technology. Endorsing an event such as this not only strengthens that understanding from our end - it is also a great arena for identifying new opportunities. Not to mention building relationships with the people driving the development forward. Considering the success of last year, it was never a question for us not to participate again.”

Luger’s grunnlegger Patrick Fredriksson, kommenterte: “Way Out West is much more than a music festival. It's a celebration of people, art and festivity and everything connected to that.
Seeing that the digital aspect is becoming a integral part of today, it is simply a natural development for us to include that creative side as well.”
