Jotun wins the Green4Sea Energy Efficiency Award 2019
During the Europort exhibition, on the 6th of November 2019, in Rotterdam, a prestigious awards ceremony was held by Europort & Safety4Sea magazine where Jotun received the Green4Sea Award for Energy Efficiency.
Jotun’s Global Concept Director for Hull Performance Solutions, Stein Kjølberg accepted the award on behalf of the company. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Kjølberg mentioned that “Jotun’s HPS concept team has been working on energy efficiency for vessels for the last 10 years. As a global leader in marine coatings, Jotun has identified the potential and need to document with data the performance of antifouling solutions. Hull and propeller performance are significant contributors to overall vessel efficiency and as such Jotun launched its Hull Performance Solutions in 2011 which struck a chord in the market. HPS, as an innovative solution, has been one of the major contributing factors leading to the creation of ISO 19030 standard in November 2016, which gave the market an open and transparent methodology to measure changes in hull and propeller performance.’’
EUROPORT has partnered with SAFETY4SEA to stage a series of special awards concentrating on four specific themes: digital shipping; environmental protection; safety at sea and maritime careers. The winners are those who have emerged through voting which was held online. The process included a combination of open nomination and voting which provided a unique opportunity for all nominees to be acknowledged for the hard and good work they have put into their projects and initiatives, worthy to be awarded.
A summary of all the award winners is available here on SAFETY4SEA magazine.
