Creative trend upcycling: Designing unique items with textile markers

It's time again for a popular spring ritual: we create space in the wardrobe for the summer wardrobe. But what to do with all those former favourites that haven't been worn for a long time but are too good to dispose of? Upcycling is a creative and sustainable solution. Discarded items experience a revival and are transformed into new, useful everyday companions. Small scraps of fabric can be used to sew pretty face masks in no time at all, while larger ones can be turned into chic bags or gym bags - there are no limits to creativity.

But your own creation only becomes a truly unique item with a finishing touch, because personalised items are absolutely hip and an expression of your individual lifestyle. Faber-Castell's textile markers are the right tool for this trend. They adhere very well to many fabrics, especially cotton, and give the finishing touch to home-made items. The durable chisel tip sets great accents in three different line widths, depending on the pencil's guidance. To ensure that the ink is better absorbed by the fibres, the fabric should be washed before painting. The colours are automatically fixed after a drying time of 24 hours, washable at 60°C and iron-proof.

Clear sign for the environment: the barrels and caps of the markers are made of 100 percent recycled plastic. In addition, from October 2021 on, they are climate-neutral and certified as climate-neutral products by Climate Partner. The cooperation with Climate Partner enables Faber-Castell to compensate for CO2 emissions generated during material extraction, the production process and transport to production. To this end, the long-established company supports global, certified climate protection projects run by Climate Partner. For every tonne of CO2 offset, 10kg of plastic waste is collected from the oceans; the CO2 is then offset via wind farms for ecological electricity generation (www.climatepartner.com).
