København, 29. februar 2024 - Det EUDP-støttede CCS- (Carbon Capture and Storage) udviklings- og demonstrationsprojekt - Projekt Bifrost - der har til formål at udvikle et koncept for lagring af CO2 i den danske Nordsø-undergrund, er gået ind i sin afsluttende fase. Projektet giver indsigt i de tekniske, operationelle og socioøkonomiske aspekter af udviklingen af CO2-lagring i Nordsøen og har frem
København, 27. november 2023 – Projekt Bifrost i den danske del af Nordsøen opnår nu den særlige EU-status som et “Projekt af Fælles Interesse” (PCI). Det bringer partnerne bag projektet tættere på at realisere målet om at gøre Danmark til en europæisk hub for CO2-lagring, der vil bidrage til europæisk klimaneutralitet inden 2050.
Med udgangspunkt i CCS-teknologiens afgørende rolle for at nå klimamålene har TotalEnergies netop fuldført Danmarks første store seismiske undersøgelse. Den har afdækket potentialet for at bruge saltvandsakviferer til opbevaring af CO₂ i den danske Nordsø.
TotalEnergies og Evida har underskrevet et memorandum of understanding for at undersøge etablering af onshore CO2-rørinfrastruktur i Danmark. Samarbejdet baner vejen for CO2-lagring i stor skala i Danmark.
Halvvejs inde i studiet bekræfter partnere bag Bifrost nu med glæde forventningen om, at Danmark kan blive en europæisk hub for CO2 lagring.
Som operatør af DUCs olie- og gasaktiviteter i den danske del af Nordsøen har Total
deltaget i arbejdet, som er pågået i klimapartnerskabet for energi og forsyning, et af 13 klimapartnerskaber nedsat af regeringen. Arbejdet er ledet af Henrik Poulsen, adm. direktør i Ørsted. Total har bidraget til de anbefalinger, som regeringen nu præsenteres for.
