Albares in Morocco to Strengthen an Ever-Evolving Strategic Partnership

Rabat, 13/12/2023 (MAP) - Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, begins a visit to Morocco this Wednesday, as part of the ongoing strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Spanish top diplomat's visit, set to include discussions with Nasser Bourita, Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, reinforces the serenity, depth of friendship, and strength of the strategic relations between Morocco and Spain.

These relations continue to evolve and enrich themselves thanks to the strong impetus given by HM King Mohammed VI during his meeting with the Spanish Government President Pedro Sánchez on April 7, 2022.

This visit, marking Albares' first foreign trip leading a significant delegation, comes less than a month after the inauguration of the new Spanish government, led by Pedro Sánchez.

Only eighteen months after the conclusion of the Joint Declaration on April 7, 2022, during the meeting between HM King Mohammed VI and Spanish Government President Pedro Sánchez, the partnership between Morocco and Spain has experienced sustained momentum and tangible progress in several areas of common interest.

This is evident in enhanced and constant political dialogue, significant economic partnership, and a wide range of cooperation in various fields, including culture, education, scientific research, sustainable development, sports, and the fight against illegal immigration and terrorism.
