Alert: Violent conflict in Lower Shabelle region, Somalia (18-015-SP) - NOT activated

New wave of displacement occurred in Lower Shabelle region of Somalia is due to the current armed conflicts in the area between Government forces and Alshabab, according to OCHA report

The Alert Note is well prepared with attached documentation and links to information on the experienced crisis situation. It is assessed that a humanitarian crisis is indeed unfolding in the area and would be eligible for DERF funding of responses. Unfortunately, the alert is rejected due to insufficient funds in the DERF. The DERF will be able to respond to new crisis alerts in 2019.
