More than half of all Swedish imports and exports are via Sweden’s Core Ports. This makes the Core Ports the most important ports for Swedish commerce. Despite this, the national status of the Core Ports and how such status is differentiated in the planning of Sweden’s infrastructure is unclear.
The EU Innovation Fund has recently identified the projects that will receive a part of €1 billion which will be handed out to innovative projects within the green transition. In a strong field, the application filed by ARC and CMP for financial support for CO2 capture at Amager Bakke has not received a share of the funds to be granted. A new shore power facility was inaugurated today at the DFDS terminal in Copenhagen by, among others, Copenhagen’s Lord Mayor Lars Weiss. After a long, long wait, the first cruise ships of the season will arrive at our docks in Copenhagen this weekend. These are initially blue cruises, where passengers do not disembark but rather visit the city from the seaside. €120 million for a full-scale CO2 capture facility is now almost within reach. ARC’s and CMP’s joint project has gone ahead in the elimination race for funds from the EU’s Innovation Fund.
With the C4 cluster, a number of major utility companies in the Copenhagen metropolitan area seek to make carbon capture a crucial element in the green transition in Denmark.
