A unique Rolex Daytona watch was sold Thursday evening for EUR 88,800 (including buyer’s premium) at Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers in Copenhagen. The watch was won by Danish racing driver Michael Christensen in 2017 at the prestigious 24 hours of Daytona race. Michael Christensen now wants to donate the profits from the sale to Save the Children in Ukraine.

The swiss designer Gérald Genta is behind some of the most iconic wristwatches in history, and two highly coveted watches are up for auction at Bruun Rasmussen 29 September. One is the rare Audemars Piguet, estimated at DKK 600,000-800,000, and the other is the luxurious Patek Philippe estimated at DKK 150,000-200,000.

Among the many wristwatches Rolex has produced through the ages, there is hardly a more sought-after model than the Daytona "Paul Newman". Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers can now present the watch with a reference 6239.

New Auction Record: DKK 1.7 million for a Rolex Daytona

Thursday evening, Bruun Rasmussen achieved yet another Danish auction record with the sale of a Rolex Daytona Cosmograph from 1964-65, also known as the “Paul Newman” watch. It was sold for the extraordinary price of DKK 1.7 million (€297,000 including buyer’s premium), which is the highest hammer price ever achieved at a wristwatch auction in Denmark.

Rolex "Paul Newman" Daytona up for Auction at DKK 1 million

At this summer's international auction in Copenhagen, Bruun Rasmussen offers a unique and iconic Rolex Daytona Cosmograph from 1964-65, identical to the wristwatch owned by Paul Newman, which last year went for USD 15.5 million. The auction house has never before offered this model.

Star-studded Rolex Estimated at DKK 1.5 Million

The most expensive Rolex watch in the history of Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers in Copenhagen will be up for auction on 30 November. The watch is a rare star-studded "Stilline" wristwatch from 1953, which is estimated at DKK 1.2-1.5 million. Included in the auction is also the world's most sought-after sports watch "Nautilus 3700" from Patek Philippe, which is estimated at DKK 350,000-400,000.
