Musical Design Treasure Sets New World Record

Bruun Rasmussen’s 70th anniversary auction concluded on a high note as Danish design came under the hammer Thursday evening. A musical instrument garnered quite a lot of the attention during a bidding round where it was knocked down for several million Danish kroner.

A Dance Worth Millions – Danish and International Art Sold at Live Auction in Copenhagen

The saleroom was packed and the air full of bids at yesterday’s auction for artwork by international and Danish modern artists. While works by Gunther Förg and Willem de Kooning put up a good show, it was the Danish painter Harald Giersing who ran off with the top hammer price of DKK 3.1 million (EUR 540,000 including buyer’s premium).

CoBrA at 70

Bruun Rasmussen is not the only one turning 70 this year. The same goes for the CoBrA art group, which was founded in 1948 with the intent of creating a new and more liberated approach to art. Part of our anniversary auction is therefore dedicated to the art of CoBrA.

​A New Kind of Auction: Direct Auction

At Bruun Rasmussen we are launching a completely new kind of auction called Direct Auction. The auction takes place online, and, as always, our experts will advise, valuate and describe the items up for auction. However, unlike the Live Auctions and Online Auctions, it will be the seller who takes the pictures of the items and sends them directly to the buyer.

At Bruun Rasmussen’s anniversary auction, the gentlemen will certainly have something to put on their Christmas wish list! Two top models from Rolex, a Daytona Cosmograph and a Dato-Compax Chronograph, will be up for auction together with an Omega Speedmaster "Ultraman" and 60 other ticking wonders.

​Queen Alexandrine's Russian Imperial Wedding Gift up for Auction in Copenhagen

At the end of this year, we mark the 70 years that have passed since the founding of Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers with a large anniversary auction. One of the highlights of this auction is a unique Russian sapphire tiara – a historic cultural treasure, which exemplifies the strong connections between the Danish Royal House and the Russian Imperial House.

The Many Faces of Per Kirkeby: from Pop Art to Geology

At the autumn's international auction in Copenhagen, we celebrate the many artistic achievements of the recently deceased Danish artist Per Kirkeby. We do so with a series of works ranging from his early experiments with pop art to his later geological studies.

An outstanding private collection of glass art from the 20th century is offered at Bruun Rasmussen's international auction in Copenhagen 26 September. The owner is the Danish doctor Torben Sørensen who has spent a lifetime gathering a plethora of works from Italy, Finland and Sweden.
