When four Nordic countries broadcast Cykelvasan 90 live on Saturday, August 8, both elite cyclists and TV audiences will be introduced to a brand-new sprint competition. In other words, there will now be a “race within the race”.
När fyra nordiska länder direktsänder Cykelvasan 90 i TV lördagen den 8 augusti får eliten och publiken stifta bekantskap med ett helt nytt upplägg för spurtpriserna. Det blir med andra ord en ”tävling i tävlingen”.
The previous registration record has been broken. More than 2,000 runners are currently registered, making Ultravasan 90 on Saturday, August 15, 2026 the largest ultra race ever held in the Nordic region. Several changes are being introduced for this summer’s race, which also carries Swedish Championship status, including updates to both the start and the course.
This winter, Tjejvasan will become part of the Ski Classics Pro Tour, and a brand-new elite race for men will be launched: Vasaloppet Pro Race 30, held on the same course as Tjejvasan.
Det tidigare anmälningsrekordet har slagits. Just nu är över 2 000 löpare anmälda och Ultravasan 90 lördag den 15 augusti 2026 blir därmed Nordens största ultralopp någonsin. Till sommarens lopp, som dessutom har SM-status, genomförs flera förändringar, både i starten och längs banan.
I vinter blir Tjejvasan en del av Ski Classics Pro Tour samtidigt som ett helt nytt elitlopp lanseras för herrarna: Vasaloppet Pro Race 30, som avgörs på samma sträcka som Tjejvasan.
Participants in Cykelvasan 90 and Cykelvasan Öppet Spår will now get even more Vasaloppet feeling in their race. More than 7 kilometres of the course will be moved from asphalt and gravel roads into the classic winter Vasaloppet trail. The total distance will now be 92 kilometres instead of 95 kilometres.
